Laurent Commission : And after?
Our president, Mélanie Gagnon, could not remain silent in the face of these disturbing revelations. She responded with a Facebook post that you can read here: https://www.facebook.com/FFARIQ
A ruling by Judge Daniel Villeneuve found that evidence favorable to a mother was deliberately withheld, and a social worker’s electronic signature was used without her knowledge—all to mislead the court. This is unacceptable. This situation is happening throughout Quebec—not only in cases involving biological families, but also in those involving foster families.
And these situations have devastating consequences for the children and the families who take them in.
In this interview with Philippe Cantin on 98.5 FM, the national director of the DPJ, Lesley Hill, stated that an administrative investigation is already underway. She described the allegations of alleged misconduct as very serious and promised that those responsible will face severe sanctions if the allegations are substantiated.
But our question is: Ms. Hill, when will you take proactive measures rather than reacting only after situations make the news?
The trust that foster parents and biological parents have in the DPJ is at stake. And above all, what is at stake here is the protection of children’s well-being and best interests.
