As you know, the amendment to the Youth Protection Act was at the heart of our concerns. The FFARIQ, the only union organization that proposed changes to the Act for the benefit of foster families, won its case.
A full text was presented in the January 2018 Inform'Accueil, outlining the main changes to the Act.
The main change affecting resources is that from now on, IR-RTFs who wishes, will be able to appear in court assisted by a lawyer to make known their representations during a displacement or a revision of the classification.
To this end, the FFARIQ has negotiated preferential rates for you with Leblanc law firm, a lawyer specializing in youth protection law, who can assist you during your auditions before the juvenile court. Additional services are also offered in civil law, such as adoption. These services are offered in all regions represented by the FFARIQ.
