We inform you that amendments were adopted by the National Assembly on June 12th, in connection with the Act respecting labor standards.
Although this Act does not apply to IR-FTR, an amendment to this one provides that in case of a family leave, a user hosted in an IR-FTR and meeting the definition of an employee may henceforth benefit from a family leave to take care of an IR-FTR.
Thus, absences for family or parental reasons are extended to a broader definition of "parent" and include foster families.
This amendment entered into force on June 12th, 2018.
