Laurent Commission : And after?
As you are aware, our group
agreement provides, in Chapter 4-2.00 and in the letter of Agreement No. 4,
insurance coverage for users under the property and casualty Insurance Program
for Family resources and other eligible resources including their users. The
Department of Insurance of the Health and Social Services Network (DARSSS) is
designated by the Ministry of Health and Social Services as the manager of this
insurance program for users under the Protection of young people.
Your institution has
normally sent you an explanatory brochure containing details of this coverage
and the procedure to be followed in the event of a disaster (physical or
material damage caused by users). You will find on our website, in the Forms
page of the Members tab, the detailed insurance certificate (in French only) for
this policy, including the protection granted. Your personal insurer may also
ask you to provide this certificate, as well as the letter of Agreement No. 4
of the group agreement.
However, note that the damage caused by users to your vehicles is not covered. Your car insurance must provide for this coverage if necessary. Also, note that our partner Lajoie Assurance offers car and home insurance policies that are perfectly adapted to the situation of a foster family. If you have any questions about their services, you can contact their team at 1-800-962-4766 or 450-941-4766, or by email at s.lajoie@lajoieassurance.com.
