Symposium 2023: inspiration, laughter and line dancing!

There's no doubt about it: our 2023 symposium was a huge success!

Our President Geneviève Rioux opened the symposium with an overview of the 3 major areas of focus for the 2023-2025 strategic plan.

Simultaneous translation was available throughout the symposium for our foster families who are more comfortable in English.

Three Authentic Speakers

Mathieu Gratton shared with us the emotions he experienced on the arrival of Benjamin, his son suffering from autism. He talked to us about confidence, autonomy, learning and developing potential. You can follow Le monde de Benjamin (https://www.facebook.com/lemondedebenjamin) on Facebook.

Josélito Michaud shared his experience as a child of the DYP, a story he tells in his book Dans mes yeux à moi. With great openness, emotion, and simplicity, he exchanged with the foster families and brought out some wonderful testimonials.

Marc-André Morel concluded the day with a talk entitled "Becoming the foster family you want to be", in which he made us aware of the power we have over our own success.

An evening of country music together!

At the end of the day, the curious were able to take a few country dance lessons in preparation for the evening! The pleasure of moving and having fun was visible on all faces.

Dressed in their finest Western garb, our foster families then enjoyed an evening of bonding and lasting memories.

Beautiful gifts for foster families

This year, thanks to the generosity of companies and organizations, we awarded prizes worth a total of $6,955.

Plenary

Sunday morning was an opportunity for a plenary meeting. This meeting with the foster families present was rich in suggestions to help us in the current negotiations. We also took the opportunity to tell you how the negotiations are progressing.
