On December 9th, 2016, several
members of the FFARIQ’s board of directors and executive committee participated
to the annual symposium of the JEFAR research team at Laval University. Many
topics related to foster families were discussed, including, among others,
viewpoints of the host community on placement of children in the context of
youth protection. In addition, the intergenerational transmission of
maltreatment was also discussed from the point of view of the social workers
and parents followed in youth centers.
Each year, the FFARIQ is
taking on the task of attending the symposium organized by the JEFAR
team, which is always very involved in everything that affects resources,
children and families at risk. Their research, studies and orientations are a
wealth of information to fully understand the situations and the experiences of
foster families as well as the children they foster.
